An exciting opportunity has become available within the Naval Human Resources team for an experienced Human Resources Coordinator. Reporting directly to the Director of HR and located 3 days in Garden Island & 2 days in Rydalmere this 9 month role provides great exposure across all the HR functions.
Your Role......
The HR Coordinator will provide advice and assistance to the HR Team and Naval business in regards to the promotion and delivery of key HR initiatives in support of the Thales HR Strategy and the HR philosophy.
The HR Coordinator also provides advice, coaching and support to managers and team members in identifying, evaluating, and resolving employment/human relations and work performance challenges
As the HR Coordinator you will be responsible for:
- Promoting HR initiatives and ensuring that managers and employees are aligned with Thales People1st principles and processes.
- Liaising with Talent Acquisition and management regarding the recruitment and selection of personnel.
- Dealing with management on issues such as counselling, disciplinary and grievance processes within the business to ensure consistent application of policy and procedural fairness.
- Supporting and assisting with the HR Shared Services model.
- Advising management and employees on employment conditions contained in relevant awards, collective agreements and policies.
- Negotiating offers of employment with current employees which includes promoting company benefits and explaining the contractual terms and conditions of each offer.
- Promoting Thales policies based on knowledge of Thales and Naval's strategy and mission and applying them consistently.
- Coordinating training & development which includes competency frameworks for the Naval Domain.
- Liaising with HSE and management to deal with injury management and Workers Compensation issues.
- Preparing reports from the HR Information System for management including monthly headcounts reports and monitoring fix-term contracts.
- Working with Finance and Project Management departments in Naval Domain to make sure that all HRIS is aligned with other business systems.
- Performing job evaluations using Thales Job Family and Level of Responsibility guidelines.
- Supporting management with development and maintenance of job descriptions for the business.
- Maintaining HR personnel records and HR Information System. This includes filing and archiving personnel files.
- Being Involved with various HR and departmental meetings to provide continuous feedback.
- Dealing with invoices from HR perspective.
You will be.......
To be successful in this role you will need to have completed or be studying a HR Degree/Diploma or equivalent. Bringing to the role your solid HR generalist experience and breadth of knowledge across a range of HR areas with exposure to the engineering, trades or manufacturing industries will see you in good stead for the role.
You must possess strong communication & relationship building skills, excellent customer service and a hands on approach to Human Resources. The HR Coordinator will belong to a down to earth and supportive HR team spread acorss two sites within Sydney, therefore you must be willing to travel.
