Grief in the workplace: the death of a loved one

Employees who have lost a loved one need support in the workplace. Grief is not a fast or easy process. Support from the workplace can make a major difference to those affected.

A report from the National Council for Palliative Care found that more than half of the 4000 people surveyed would consider leaving their job if their employer didn’t provide support.  It is therefore also in the employer’s interest to deal with the situation sympathetically.
