Despair and low back pain: Connecting as a starting point-The evidence

People with chronic low back pain can lose their sense of control over life, a major demotivating factor

The study was conducted in the form of interviews, where participants were invited to ‘tell their story’. The participants consisted of 12 male and 8 female patients who had been newly referred to pain clinics in the South of England. Ages varied from 28 to 79 years.
