The return to work rate is the percentage of cases where an injured worker has reported returning to work between the time of the claim and the time of the interview circa 6 months after their claim.
In 2011-12 76% of injured South Australian workers had returned to work seven to nine months after submitting a claim, a result that is down on last year and continues a decline the began in 2008-2009.
The South Australian rate has further declined against the national average which since 2008-09 has improved to 84%. The SA RTW rate has now fallen to 8% below the national average.
Q: Would you please tell me whether you have returned to work at all since you put in your workers’ compensation claim?
