To assess your organisation's culture about injury management and psychosocial factors, consider these warning signs:
•Do employees avoid reporting problems or report late?
•Do graduated RTW programs progress slowly?
•Are claim rates are higher than expected?
•Do a significant proportion of staff remain on long-term restricted duties?
•Are more than 5% of claims investigated?
•Does the organisation consistently face resistance or a lack of response from treating doctors?
•Do you have low scores on Psychosocial Safety Climate measures?
Educate them about what they can do to improve return to work outcomes. |
