Workplace culture and injury management: ‘Give and take’ models

The culture of RTW management is a subset of overall organisational culture. There are 3 types of RTW culture:

The ‘Give, give, give’ model

When an organisation gives excessively employees may become complacent and other staff may become frustrated.

The ‘Give and take’ model

This balanced approach provides help and support when needed but also expects employees to take an active role in injury prevention and rehabilitation.

The ‘Take, take, take’ model

When an organisation takes excessively it can lead to employee burnout, high staff turnover and a culture of mistrust.
