Seeing trouble
Each year, there are about 50,000 eye injuries in Australia, costing somewhere in the vicinity of $60 million. Around 8% of workplace injuries are eye injuries. For every thousand workers, seven are likely to sustain an eye injury this year. More than half of these affected workers will be hurt when a foreign body enters the external eye.
