It Pays to Care: Advancing work injury management
It Pays to Care is an evidence-based initiative that promotes a national dialogue on creating fair and efficient workers' compensation schemes. This policy, developed by the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, aims to reshape the approach to work injury management across Australia and New Zealand.
RTWMatters: Proud Supporters and Administrators
At RTWMatters, we are honoured to be at the forefront of supporting and advocating for the It Pays to Care policy. Our involvement stems from a deep commitment to improving outcomes for injured workers and creating more effective compensation systems.
The policy paper, primarily authored by our own Dr Mary Wyatt FAFOEM and supported by former RTWMatters editor Gabrielle Lis, provides a comprehensive framework for reform. It examines four crucial domains of work injury schemes: workplaces, case management, workers' compensation insurance and regulation, and healthcare. By highlighting best practices and areas for improvement in each of these sectors, It Pays to Care offers a roadmap for positive change.
As a registered charity, RTWMatters plays a pivotal role in bringing the It Pays to Care vision to life. We manage funding, provide administrative support, and facilitate the efforts of an expanded team of passionate advocates. This dedicated group brings decades of collective experience in workers' compensation and policy advocacy to the table.
Our ability to drive this important work forward is made possible through the generous support of the Orford Foundation and several workers' compensation authorities and insurers. Their contributions enable us to administer and expand the reach of the It Pays to Care advocacy project.
