The process of a worker's compensation claim can significantly affect an injured worker's wellbeing, with uncertain outcomes once the claim is finalised. This webinar, led by James Weir, a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and PhD candidate at Curtin University, delves into the aftermath of claim finalisation, uncovering the potential ongoing burden on individuals, employers, and society. Drawing from a comprehensive review of current literature, this session aims to shed light on the wellbeing outcomes of injured workers post-claim finalisation:
James Weir is a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist working clinically in Perth with complex and work-related musculoskeletal pain presentations and is currently undertaking a Musculoskeletal Clinical Specialisation Program with the Australian College of Physiotherapists. James has also worked as an Injury Management Advisor within a large workers’ compensation insurer and is undertaking a PhD at Curtin University, investigating outcomes following claim finalisation.
