A single pain management skills session is as effective at reducing pain catastrophising for people with chronic low back pain as eight sessions of CBT.

The most common type of chronic pain is chronic low back pain. Rates are rising, despite an increase in medical treatments such as surgery and prescribed pain killers – treatments that often do more harm than good.
