Professional Development: For individuals and organisations

Cheryl Griffiths

Developing and maintaining knowledge and skills in return to work is vital for job satisfaction and career advancement. Keeping informed inspires ideas, new approaches and keeps you engaged.

Focussing on your professional development also gives employers peace of mind that their RTW or claims staff are actively broadening their knowledge, expertise and competence.

Return to Work Matters is committed to keeping you and your employer up to date with the latest best-practice information in return to work and case management. Our members have varying levels of knowledge, experience and a broad range of roles within the industry. Return To Work Matters provides a variety of content, options and tools for individuals and organisations.

Webinars:

Regular webinars (online seminars) are held with industry experts and all premium members are invited to attend. Webinars involve experts presenting to attendees with an interactive Q&A session at the conclusion. A recording of the webinar along with any extra resources and contact details is emailed to attendees and published on the site for future reference. (Premium member access only)

Queensland Return to Work Coordinators are able to accumulate points towards their RRTWC re-registrations by attending webinars, email admin@rtwmatters.org for more information.

Training Videos:

There are different types of training videos available. From interviews with researchers and mental health experts, to ergonomic demonstrations and medical information on back pain. Use them as a basis for inhouse group discussions or as alternative way to comprehend new information. (Premium member access only)

Evidence-based research updates:

Easy to read research translations that focus on the relevant information and show how it can be practically applied. Useful as a starting point for further investigation, or to back up your advice to management and employees.

Practical how-to articles:

Great for 'newbies', our practical quick guides expand on the basic 2-3 day RTW Coordinator training courses that many new RTW Coordinators are limited to.

Handbooks:

Our Injury and Case Management Handbook and the Workplace Systems Handbook come in eBook format as bonus gifts when joining Return to Work Matters. These are ideal for people who prefer to work in a methodical way.
