According to WorkSafe Victoria, workers in residential care, including aged care, have a higher than average chance of being injured at work.

Over 64% of all injuries in this field are caused by hazardous manual handling, as well as slips, trips and falls. Jane Braddy, WorkHealth and Safety Manager at Multicultural Aged Care Services in Geelong, explained that many of the injuries in the sector tend to come from work practice.
