Fixing pain versus managing injury

Encouraging a client with a chronic injury to "manage" their condition may have better long-term outcomes than a quick fix.

"Get well soon!” This cheerful message is printed in greeting cards, painted on balloons and repeated by well-meaning visitors to the hospital.
