Despair and low back pain: Connecting as a starting point-The evidence

People with chronic low back pain can lose their sense of control over life, a major demotivating factor

The study on despair from long term back pain was conducted in the form of interviews, where participants were invited to ‘tell their story’. The participants included of 12 male and 8 female patients who had been newly referred to pain clinics in the South of England. Ages varied from 28 to 79 years.
