How does pre-existing workplace social support impact return to work after injury? Do supervisor and co-worker responses to injury have an impact on the duration of work absence?

In a nutshell… Positive responses to injury from supervisors and co-workers probably hinge on pre-existing workplace relationships: if supportive relationships are the norm, responses to injury will likely be supportive too. When supervisors are seen as responding positively to workplace injury, early sustained return to work is more likely. Supervisors probably exert more influence on RTW outcomes than co-workers. ...
